“Libertas. Ars. Caritatis.”
Concord, Massachusetts is one of the places where our country was founded. Concord used to have a newspaper in the 1800s named the Middlesex Freeman. Later, it was renamed the Concord Freeman. Freedom of expression is a right our ancestors fought for. The design of Freeman Review is based on the design of the old Concord Freeman. Freeman Review is a tribute to the historic newspaper, and to the history of the fight for the right of free expression in our country. The Concord Freeman used a Latin phrase as its motto so we decided to create our own Latin motto. We are all free to express ourselves through our writing and art. We are also free to contribute that work to the world not just for own benefit, but for the benefit of others. Our Latin motto,“Libertas. Ars. Caritatis.” means “Freedom. Art. Charity.” Young people have much to contribute through their writing and art. Many young people want to connect with the world, not just through their writing and art, but with their acts of charity and service to others. If you are a young person, we hope you’ll consider contributing your writing and other art to help others by inspiring visitors through your submissions to donate to charity. If you are a visitor, we hope that you enjoy the writing and art we publish, and that it inspires you to donate to one of the worthy charities on our Donate page.
